Funny quote I heard

Though it does have a lot of truth to it.

"One day I realized that God and I were incompatible, and one of us has to change"

All That Remains

Three things remain
unto the very end,
Faith, Hope, and Love,
and all that kin.

Faith is like Justice
many say it is blind,
for it's trust in the unseen
and belief in the mind.

The faith of a child
is all that we need,
their unswerving trust
in the simplest of deed.

Hope is like the little bird
that sings of early spring.
assuring us that sometime soon
things will again turn green.

Hope is also the tiny flame
that burns in the darkest of nights,
saving our hearts until that day
when all of spirits shine bright.

And the last of these is love
but its the greatest of all,
for if there was no love
all God's kingdom would fall.

For loving is simple
both for you and for me,
we only will to care
for everyone that we see.

And if you're ever in question
love's the way to go,
for though fear can change an action
love can change a soul.

I Miss You

In the beginning, I Am.
I formed the world with a word.
I brought light into the darkness.
I created land and sea, plant and creature.
Then I made my masterpiece, you.

I formed you from the dust with my hands,
I shaped you and molded you to my plan.
Then I breathed life into you.
You, unlike all else, were made in my image.

I made the world for you,
I gave you authority of it,
I let you name the animals,
This world was yours.

Above all, I gave you my love.
In the cool of the evenings
We walked together and talked
We enjoyed our company.

Then you turned from me
And chose your own way rather than mine
You took my gifts and misued them
You took my love and spurned it.
And I waited.

I waited for you to return to me.
I walked behind and not beside you.
Yearning for your love.

Then one day, you had enough
You realized you’re hungry, thirsty, lonely
That your life wasn’t satisfying,
So you turned to me.

You asked for a drink
And I gave you my blood
For though you wanted to satisfy your thirst
I wanted to satisfy your heart
By giving living water springing up to eternal life.

You asked for bread,
And I gave you my body
For though you were hungry
I wanted you to have life
And gave my body as the bread of life.

You asked for forgiveness
And I gave you righteousness
For before you had asked
I had provided
While you were yet sinners, Christ died.

You asked for guidance
And I gave you my spirit
For though you wanted help with a decision
I gave you the Counselor
Who could guide you into all truth.

Yet through all this, I still missed your heart
You acknowledged your sin,
You accepted my grace,
You followed my ways,
But your heart was still your own.

I still miss our walks
I miss when your joy was to fellowship with me
I miss you.

Come to me, and I will give you rest
Draw near to me, and I will draw near to you.
For I desire your love more than your deeds
And your heart, above all your sacrifices.
